Our chosen trail for 2019 is the Gloucestershire Way; 100 miles between Chepstow Castle and Tewkesbury. We will start by walking eastwards through the Forest of Dean, over May Hill, Gloucester, the Severn plain, on into the Cotswolds and the delightful villages of Lower and Upper Slaughter and Stow on the Wold where we turn westwards and head back to Tewkesbury. There are 9 sections, each of between 10-12 miles with one section at 13 miles. As in previous years, the bus transport meeting point will be the Countryside Centre. These walks will take place on Saturdays starting 23rd March and finishing on 19th October. All bank holiday weekends and group holiday dates have been avoided. There is a 4 week interval between each of the sections except for the second and final sections where the interval is 3 weeks
Note that these walks are linear and around 10 miles. Please be comfortable that you are capable of walking such a distance with a group.
Past experience shows that we rarely get more than 30 people on these trail walks, so this year we are limiting each walk to 29 people as the 29 seater coach is the optimum transport from a cost perspective.
So to avoid disappointment BOOK and PAY now to guarantee your place on the coach.
Booking is now open for sections 4 to 6
The meeting point for the coach is the Countryside Centre, WR5 2LG. We will depart promptly at 08:30am.
Please send your name, and which walk(s) you are booking to Heather Fraser and pay £11 per person, per walk to Worcester Ramblers Bank Account.
Please quote reference - surname/GW when paying directly into the Worcester Ramblers Bank Account.
If you do not have the bank details please contact the Treasurer (Marian Carr). If you are paying by cheque please include an additional chrage of 50 pence
There will be no refunds. However, if, having booked, you are unable to take part in one section of a walk, your fee can be used for another section, provided you give 2 weeks notice to the organisers of your non participation.
We are looking forward to seeing you on the trail.
