The walk takes in the two ridges that form the head of the picturesque Olchon Valley. After climbing up to Black Hill (640m) we continue to join the ridge of the Black Mountains close to Hay Bluff before heading south on Offas Dyke. The highest point in Herefordshire is actually on the ridge at 703m. We then descend into the Olchon Valley and back to the start. Both the ascent and desent are steep and in places rocky. Total distance is 12.5km with 550m of ascent.
